How We Clean & Maintain Our Inflatables | Rugby Inflatables

Behind the Scenes at Rugby Inflatables

How We Clean & Maintain Our Inflatables

Every inflatable needs proper care throughout its working life. From cleaning and routine inspections to maintenance and pre-hire preparation, we work to ensure our equipment is presentable, suitable and ready for your event.

Looking After Every Inflatable

A bouncy castle may only be at your party for a few hours, but looking after it is an ongoing process. Our equipment is checked, cleaned, monitored and maintained between hires as part of our normal operating procedures.

From One Hire to the Next

Our equipment-care process continues throughout the inflatable's working life rather than only when its annual inspection is due.

1

Equipment Returns

After a hire, equipment is returned and any issues identified during the booking can be noted for further attention.

2

Condition Checked

The condition of the inflatable and associated equipment is monitored for damage, excessive wear or anything requiring maintenance.

3

Cleaning

Inflatables are cleaned as required so that they remain presentable and suitable for future customers.

4

Maintenance

Where maintenance or repair is required, the issue is dealt with before the equipment is returned to normal hire use.

5

Pre-Hire Preparation

Before the next booking, equipment is prepared and checked again as part of our pre-hire process.

6

Setup Checks

Further operational and safety checks are completed when the inflatable is installed at the customer's location.

Cleaning Our Inflatables

Children's inflatable equipment naturally needs regular attention. We monitor cleanliness and clean equipment as required between hires.

Particular attention can be given to areas that receive regular contact during normal use, including entrance areas, steps and bouncing surfaces.

Walls and internal surfaces

Presentation matters to us. We want the inflatable arriving at your party to look clean and presentable as well as being properly prepared for use.

Visual Inspections

Cleaning also gives us another opportunity to look closely at the condition of the inflatable.

We monitor areas such as seams, stitching, anchor points, entrance areas, inflation tubes, netting and the general condition of the inflatable.

Wear & Damage

Commercial equipment will naturally experience wear over time, which is why condition monitoring is important.

If we identify damage or deterioration that could affect safe or suitable operation, the equipment is removed from normal hire use while the issue is assessed.

It's Not Just the Inflatable

The inflatable is only one part of the complete setup. Blowers, electrical equipment, extension equipment and other accessories also require appropriate care.

Power cables
Electrical connections
Extension equipment
RCD protection
Safety matting and accessories

Relevant electrical equipment is also subject to our electrical safety arrangements, including PAT testing where applicable.

Preventative Maintenance

We don't want to wait for something to fail before paying attention to it.

Routine condition monitoring helps us identify wear and maintenance requirements so that appropriate action can be taken before equipment is supplied for another hire.

Removing Equipment From Hire

If an item of equipment does not meet our expected standard, it can be taken out of service.

It will not return to normal hire use until the concern has been appropriately assessed and any necessary work has been completed.

Before Your Inflatable Leaves Us

Before equipment is supplied for a booking, we carry out preparation and condition checks to help make sure it is ready for use.

✓ General condition checked
✓ Cleanliness checked
✓ Anchor points checked
✓ Inflation areas checked
✓ Blower equipment checked
✓ Associated equipment prepared

The Final Checks Happen at Your Event

Even after an inflatable has been prepared, our checks continue when we arrive at the hire location.

Once positioned and inflated, we complete the relevant setup checks before handing the equipment over for use. These can include checking anchoring, blower positioning, cable routing, inflatable condition and operating pressure.

Preparation doesn't stop when we load the van. The final setup at your venue is an important part of making sure the equipment is ready for the hire.

You Can Help Us Look After the Equipment Too

A few simple rules during your hire help us keep the inflatables clean and in good condition for everyone.

✓ No food or drinks on the inflatable
✓ No shoes
✓ No sharp objects
✓ No silly string
✓ Follow the supplied operating rules
✓ Report any problems during the hire
A note about face paint We don't normally allow face paint to be worn while using our inflatables because some face paints can transfer onto or permanently stain inflatable material.

Maintenance Is Documented Too

Good equipment management isn't only about what happens physically to the inflatable. Records and procedures help us monitor equipment consistently over time.

Continuous Improvement

Our maintenance and cleaning arrangements aren't something we consider finished. We continue to review our equipment, procedures, records and working practices as the business develops.

Where equipment needs replacing, procedures can be improved or additional checks would be useful, we want to make those improvements rather than simply continuing because something has always been done a particular way.
