Our Equipment Standards

A professional inflatable hire involves much more than simply delivering a bouncy castle.

From independent testing and electrical safety to cleaning, maintenance, setup checks and documentation, we take the condition and safe operation of our equipment seriously.

Professional Equipment, Professionally Managed

Our inflatables are commercial hire equipment designed for repeated professional use. Each unit forms part of an ongoing system of inspection, testing, cleaning, maintenance and record keeping.

Whether we're setting up for a family birthday, indoor venue, school or community event, the same core equipment standards apply.

Our Standards at a Glance

✓ Independent Inflatable Testing Applicable inflatables are independently inspected through the PIPA scheme.
✓ Electrical Safety Electrical equipment is subject to inspection and PAT testing as part of our safety arrangements.
✓ Pre-Hire Checks Equipment is checked and prepared before being supplied for hire.
✓ Setup Checks Anchoring, inflation, equipment positioning and other relevant safety points are checked during setup.
✓ Cleaning & Maintenance Equipment is cleaned, monitored and maintained throughout its working life.
✓ £5 Million Public Liability Insurance Insurance cover is maintained as part of our professional operating arrangements.

Commercial Hire Equipment

Our inflatables are intended for the professional hire environment rather than being lightweight domestic garden toys.

Professional inflatable equipment requires ongoing inspection, maintenance and correct operation throughout its working life.

Recognised Safety Standards

Our inflatable equipment is operated with reference to recognised inflatable play equipment standards and industry guidance, including BS EN 14960 where applicable.

These standards cover important areas including design, construction, testing, installation, operation and inspection of inflatable play equipment.

Independent Testing

PIPA Testing

PIPA is an inspection scheme used within the inflatable play industry. Applicable Rugby Inflatables equipment is independently inspected and recorded through the scheme.

What is checked?

The inspection considers relevant areas of the inflatable including its condition, construction, anchor points, seams, inflation system and safety features.

PIPA Records

Successfully inspected equipment has an associated PIPA record, helping customers, venues and event organisers verify the testing status of the inflatable.

Electrical Equipment & Blowers

Safe inflatable operation also depends on the equipment supplying and maintaining inflation.

✓ Commercial inflatable blowers
✓ Electrical equipment inspections
✓ PAT testing arrangements
✓ Suitable extension equipment
✓ RCD protection
✓ Cable and connection checks

Pre-Hire Equipment Checks

Before equipment is supplied for a booking, its general condition is checked as part of our preparation process.

✓ Inflatable fabric and general condition
✓ Stitching and seams
✓ Anchor points and webbing
✓ Inflation tubes and connections
✓ Entrances, steps and safety features
✓ Blower and associated equipment
✓ Cleanliness
✓ Any visible damage or deterioration
If equipment is identified as unsuitable for hire, it is removed from service until the issue has been appropriately assessed and resolved.

Checks Continue at Setup

Equipment preparation doesn't end when we leave for your booking. Once on site, further checks are completed as part of the setup process.

✓ Suitable positioning
✓ Appropriate anchoring
✓ Blower positioning
✓ Cable routing
✓ Inflatable operating condition
✓ Operating pressure checks
✓ Safety matting where required
✓ Weather conditions for outdoor hires

Anchoring & Stability

Correct anchoring is an essential part of inflatable safety.

The securing method used depends on the approved setup environment. Outdoor inflatables are appropriately anchored into suitable ground, while suitable indoor setups use appropriate alternative securing arrangements.

Weather Monitoring

Weather conditions are an important consideration whenever inflatable equipment is being operated outdoors.

We assess forecast and site conditions and provide customers with guidance for monitoring wind during the hire. Equipment must not be operated when conditions exceed safe limits.

Cleaning & Maintenance

Maintaining commercial hire equipment involves ongoing care throughout its working life.

Our equipment is cleaned and visually monitored, with maintenance or repair arranged where required. We also keep relevant records to support the condition and continued safe use of our equipment.

✓ Routine cleaning
✓ Condition monitoring
✓ Maintenance when required
✓ Removal from service when necessary

Equipment Is Only Part of the Picture

Professional operation also requires the knowledge to transport, install, inspect and operate inflatable equipment appropriately.

We continue to develop our knowledge through training, practical experience, industry guidance and regular reviews of the way Rugby Inflatables operates.

Meet Our Team

Continuous Improvement

Equipment standards aren't something we consider once a year when an inspection is due.

We regularly review our equipment, records, procedures and working practices. Where something can reasonably be made clearer, safer or more organised, we want to improve it.

Bounce • Play • Party • Fun

Quality Is Part of Every Hire

From independent testing and maintenance to preparation and setup checks, we work to maintain professional standards throughout our equipment's working life.
