Commercial-quality equipment

We invest in commercial-grade inflatable equipment intended for the professional hire industry. Our inflatables are chosen for their suitability, construction, safety features and ability to withstand regular professional use.

Unlike lightweight domestic inflatables intended for occasional home use, professional hire equipment is designed for repeated operation and must be maintained throughout its working life.

Built to recognised standards

Our inflatable equipment is manufactured to meet the requirements of BS EN 14960, the recognised safety standard for inflatable play equipment.

The standard covers important areas such as design, construction, materials, safety features, testing requirements and operating guidance.

PIPA safety testing

PIPA is a recognised inspection scheme for inflatable play equipment. Applicable inflatables are independently inspected each year to confirm that they continue to meet the required safety standards.

What the inspection considers

A PIPA inspection examines key areas such as structural condition, stitching, seams, anchor points, inflation systems, safety features and the general condition of the inflatable.

What customers can look for

Following a successful inspection, the inflatable receives a valid PIPA tag and inspection record. This helps customers and venues confirm that annual independent testing has taken place.

Electrical safety

Safe operation depends on more than the inflatable itself. Our blowers, extension leads and associated electrical equipment are regularly PAT tested and visually inspected.

We also use suitable electrical connections and RCD protection as part of our setup process, helping to provide additional protection in the event of an electrical fault.

Professional-grade blowers

Each inflatable is paired with an appropriate commercial blower capable of maintaining the required operating pressure throughout the hire.

Blowers, cables and connections are checked for visible damage and positioned carefully during setup to reduce avoidable risks.

Every hire begins with an inspection

Before an inflatable is loaded for a booking, we carry out a visual and practical inspection. This helps us identify anything requiring attention before the equipment reaches the customer.

  • Stitching and seams
  • Anchor points and webbing
  • Inflation tubes and connections
  • Safety netting and walls
  • Steps and entrance areas
  • Blower condition and connection
  • General cleanliness
  • Overall equipment condition
Equipment that does not meet our standards is not hired out.If we identify a concern, the inflatable is removed from service until the issue has been properly assessed and resolved.

Cleaning and preventative maintenance

Maintaining equipment properly involves much more than wiping it down after use. Our routine includes cleaning, visual inspections, seasonal monitoring and preventative maintenance.

Worn components are repaired or replaced when required, and equipment is not returned to service until we are satisfied that it is suitable for hire.

Checks during setup

Our checks continue at the venue. The inflatable is positioned, anchored and inflated before operational checks are completed.

These checks may include anchor security, blower positioning, cable routing, general condition, operating pressure and weather considerations where the hire is outdoors.

Professional documentation

Behind every booking is a structured set of documents and procedures designed to support consistent, professional operation.

  • Risk assessments
  • Method statements
  • Maintenance records
  • Safety inspection records
  • Weather procedures
  • Equipment logs
  • Operator guidance
  • Cleaning procedures

Training and industry awareness

Professional operation requires knowledge as well as equipment. We continue to develop our understanding of inflatable safety, electrical equipment, setup practices, weather monitoring and the responsibilities involved in commercial hire.

Continuous improvement

We regularly review the way we work and look for sensible improvements. This includes investing in equipment, strengthening documentation, refining procedures and improving the customer journey.

Did you know? Not every inflatable hire company operates in exactly the same way. Maintenance routines, documentation and preparation can vary. We believe in being open about our standards so customers can make an informed choice and book with confidence.

Quality is part of every hire

From annual testing and routine maintenance to careful preparation and setup checks, we work hard to present every inflatable to the same professional standard. When you book with Rugby Inflatables, you are choosing a local company that takes pride in doing things properly.
