Safety-led weather decisions
Weather Updates & Hire Guidance
Weather can affect outdoor inflatable hire at any time of year.
This page explains how we monitor conditions, when we contact
customers and what may happen if the forecast becomes
unsuitable.
General Weather Information
Checking the Weather for Your Booking
This page does not provide a live weather forecast. We monitor
forecasts individually for upcoming outdoor bookings and
contact affected customers when there is a genuine concern.
Customers should continue checking their messages and emails
as their hire date approaches.
🌬️
Wind Conditions
Wind is one of the most important safety considerations for
outdoor inflatable hire.
Rugby Inflatables will not operate an inflatable where wind
conditions exceed the permitted safe limit.
- Forecasts are checked before outdoor hires.
- Wind conditions are checked during setup.
-
An anemometer is supplied for appropriate outdoor
hires.
-
Customers must continue monitoring conditions during
the hire.
- The inflatable must stop being used if instructed.
Maximum operating wind:
Our outdoor inflatables must not be used when wind speeds or
gusts reach or exceed 24 mph.
🌧️
Rain and Wet Weather
Light, occasional rain may not always result in a
cancellation. However, prolonged or heavy rain can make an
outdoor hire unsuitable.
- Wet inflatable surfaces can become slippery.
-
Heavy rainfall can affect visibility and supervision.
-
Waterlogged grass may prevent safe setup and anchoring.
-
Electrical equipment must remain suitably protected.
-
Continued poor weather may make the party impractical.
Please note:
A dry forecast does not guarantee that the ground will be
suitable following earlier rainfall.
☀️
Hot Weather
High temperatures and strong sunshine can also affect the
safe and comfortable use of an inflatable.
- Inflatable surfaces can become hot in direct sun.
- Children should take frequent rest breaks.
- Drinking water should be readily available.
- Shade should be provided where possible.
-
Supervision should watch for signs of overheating.
Extreme heat:
We may refuse, shorten or cancel an outdoor hire where the
temperature or direct sun creates an unacceptable risk.
🌱
Ground Conditions
Suitable ground is required even when the weather is dry on
the day of the booking.
Previous rainfall may leave the setup area too soft,
waterlogged, muddy or unsuitable for safe anchoring.
- The area should be natural grass or soil.
- The ground should be reasonably level.
- Standing water must not be present.
- The setup area must remain accessible.
-
Anchors must be capable of being securely installed.
Final assessment:
The setup team will assess the area on arrival. A booking
may be unable to proceed if conditions are materially
different from those described.
How We Manage Weather Concerns
Forecasts can change frequently, so we avoid making decisions
unnecessarily far in advance.
1
We Monitor
We review the forecast as the booking approaches,
including expected wind gusts, rain and temperature.
2
We Contact You
Where conditions are concerning, we contact the
customer to explain the forecast and available options.
3
We Decide Safely
The final decision is based on safety, site conditions
and the latest reliable information available.
Weather Questions
When will you contact me about the weather?
We normally contact customers once the forecast becomes
sufficiently reliable and there is a genuine concern
about whether the hire can proceed safely.
Will you cancel because rain is forecast?
Not every rain forecast results in cancellation. We
consider the expected intensity, duration, ground
conditions and whether the hire remains practical and
safe.
What happens if the forecast changes after setup?
Customers must continue monitoring conditions and follow
the supplied safety guidance. Use must stop if wind,
rain or other conditions become unsafe.
Can an indoor venue avoid weather problems?
An indoor venue removes many outdoor weather concerns,
although safe access, suitable space, power and venue
permission are still required.
What happens if Rugby Inflatables cancels the hire?
The options available will depend on the booking and our
current Terms and Conditions. We will explain the
applicable rebooking or payment options when contacting
you.
