Rugby Inflatables Size Guide
Bouncy Castle Size & Space Guide
Check inflatable sizes, required setup space, ceiling heights and access requirements before booking your garden or venue hire.
Will the Bouncy Castle Fit?
One of the most important things to check before booking is whether you have enough clear space for the inflatable you want.
The inflatable itself is only part of the space required. Additional room is needed for anchoring, the blower, access and safe operation, so always use the Required Space figures shown on this page.
Unit Size vs Required Space
Unit Size is the approximate physical size of the inflatable itself.
Required Space is the clear operating area we need to safely install and use the equipment. This is the measurement you should use when checking your garden, hall or venue.

Which Castle Could Fit Your Space?
The quickest way to narrow down your options is to compare your clear space with the required-space measurements above.
Around 10ft × 18ft
The Blue & Red Compact Party Castle is our smallest current inflatable by required floor area.
Around 15ft × 23ft
The Yellow & Green Low Height Castle may suit customers wanting a larger low-height option.
Around 16ft × 20ft
Either of our Party Time 12ft castles requires this operating area.
Around 16ft × 26ft
The Green & Blue Front Slide Combi needs the longest clear operating area in our current range.
Indoor Ceiling Height Guide
If you're hiring indoors, ceiling height is just as important as floor space.

Measure to the lowest point above the proposed setup area, not simply the hall's advertised maximum ceiling height.
How to Measure Your Garden
Measure the clear usable area where you want the inflatable to go.
- Measure the clear width.
- Measure the clear depth or length.
- Keep away from sheds, fences, trees and permanent structures.
- Allow for washing lines, low branches and garden furniture.
- Make sure the setup area is reasonably flat and suitable.
- Think about the route from our vehicle to the setup area.
Use the Required Space figure.
If your available space exactly matches only the inflatable's physical dimensions, it is unlikely to be sufficient for safe installation.
How to Measure an Indoor Venue
For halls and indoor venues, measure the actual usable setup area.
- Measure the usable floor width.
- Measure the usable floor depth.
- Measure the lowest ceiling height.
- Check for stages, pillars and fixed seating.
- Check for lights, beams and basketball hoops.
- Make sure doors and emergency exits remain clear.
- Leave room for tables, chairs and other party activities.
If you're planning an indoor booking, our Indoor Bouncy Castle Hire information may also be useful.
Don't Forget Access
Having enough setup space is only part of the check. We also need to be able to physically move the inflatable from our vehicle to the setup area.
Please make us aware of:
- Narrow gates or doorways.
- Steps or stairs.
- Long side passages.
- Sharp turns or restricted corridors.
- Parking restrictions.
- Long carrying distances.
- Any other unusual access.
Approximate minimum access
Please allow approximately 3ft of clear access unless a different arrangement has been agreed with us.
Outdoor Surface Requirements
For standard outdoor hires, the setup area needs to be suitable for safe anchoring and operation.
Please check that the area is:
- Grass or suitable soil.
- Reasonably flat.
- Clear of animal waste.
- Clear of sharp objects, toys and furniture.
- Not waterlogged or unsuitable for safe installation.
If you're unsure whether your surface is suitable, contact us before booking.
Common Measuring Mistakes
Using the inflatable size instead of the required space
The operating area is larger than the inflatable itself.
Forgetting the ceiling height
This is especially important for indoor venue bookings.
Measuring wall-to-wall
Stages, furniture, pillars or other obstructions can reduce the usable area.
Forgetting the delivery route
A large enough garden isn't helpful if the equipment cannot safely reach it.
Assuming “it should just fit” is enough
We need the full required operating area, not a tight squeeze around the inflatable.
Not Sure About Your Measurements?
Don't guess. Send us the details before booking and we'll help you check whether the inflatable you're considering is suitable.
Useful information includes:
- Your available width, depth and height.
- Whether the setup is indoors or outdoors.
- The venue name if applicable.
- Any access restrictions.
- Photos of the proposed setup area if they help explain the space.
Size & Space FAQs
Why is the required space bigger than the castle?
Additional clearance is needed for safe anchoring, the blower, access and operation.
Can I book if my space is exactly the same size as the required space?
Potentially, but your measurements must represent genuinely clear usable space. If the fit is tight or there are obstacles, contact us first.
Which inflatable needs the least floor space?
The Blue & Red Compact Party Castle currently has the smallest required setup area at approximately 10ft wide by 18ft deep.
Which inflatables are lower height?
The Compact Party Castle, Yellow & Green Low Height Castle and Green & Blue Front Slide Combi currently require approximately 11ft of available height.
What if I measure incorrectly?
If we arrive and the setup area is not suitable or does not provide the required operating space, we may be unable to safely install the equipment. Contacting us beforehand is always best if you're unsure.
