Indoor Bouncy Castle Hire Guide

Everything you need to know when hiring an inflatable for a village hall, community centre, sports hall or other suitable indoor venue.

Rugby Inflatables operates on an indoor-only basis from October through to 31 March.

Outdoor inflatable hire normally returns from early April, subject to suitable ground and weather conditions.

Planning an Indoor Party?

Indoor inflatable hire is a useful option for birthdays, family celebrations, school events, community occasions and other suitable events throughout the year.

Before booking, there are several important things to check with your venue. This guide explains the space, ceiling height, access, electrical supply and timing requirements that need to be considered before an inflatable can be delivered and installed.

Inflatable Size and Required Space Are Different

The physical size of the inflatable is only part of the space needed for installation and operation.

Additional space is required for the inflatable's operating area, anchoring arrangements, blower, access and safe use. When checking whether your venue is suitable, always use the Required Space measurements rather than relying on the inflatable's unit size alone.

Ceiling Height Matters

Ceiling height is one of the most important measurements when choosing an inflatable for an indoor venue.

Always measure to the lowest point above the proposed setup area. Beams, lighting, basketball hoops, decorations, chandeliers and other fixtures can reduce the usable ceiling height.

How to Measure Your Hall

Measure the actual usable space where the inflatable will be installed rather than relying only on the hall's advertised overall dimensions.

• Measure the available width.
• Measure the available depth or length.
• Measure the lowest usable ceiling height.
• Allow for stages, pillars and fixed furniture.
• Check for low-hanging lights, beams or decorations.
• Make sure emergency exits and access routes remain clear.
• Allow sufficient room for guests, tables and other party activities.

Venue Access

We need suitable access from our vehicle to the area where the equipment will be installed.

Please tell us before your booking if access includes:

• Steps or stairs.
• Narrow corridors or doorways.
• Long distances from the unloading point.
• Restricted parking or loading areas.
• Security gates or controlled access.
• Lifts.
• Tight turns or restricted internal routes.
• Any other obstacle that could affect delivery.

Power Requirements

Each inflatable normally requires access to a suitable electrical supply for its blower, subject to the requirements of the individual equipment.

• Normally one suitable UK 13A mains socket per inflatable.
• The socket should be reasonably close to the setup area.
• The electrical supply must remain available throughout the hire while the inflatable is available for use.
• Multiple inflatables or other powered equipment may require additional suitable supplies.

Rugby Inflatables supplies the blower, suitable extension equipment and the operating equipment required for the inflatable.

How Are Inflatables Secured Indoors?

Inflatables still require appropriate restraint and anchoring when installed indoors.

Suitable ballast or other permitted indoor anchoring arrangements are selected according to the individual inflatable, the manufacturer's information and the installation environment.

Rugby Inflatables supplies and installs the appropriate anchoring equipment required for the setup.

Venue Access, Party & Exit Times

When booking a hall or venue, we need to know the venue's access and exit times as well as the actual party or event times.

Allow Time for Setup and Collection

Please don't book your venue for exactly the same times as your party.

We need access before your guests arrive to unload, install and complete the required setup checks. We also require enough time after the party finishes to dismantle and remove the equipment before your venue booking ends.

£10 Venue Timing Charge

A £10 Venue Timing Charge applies where Rugby Inflatables needs to work around fixed venue access, setup or collection times.

The charge is based on the venue's timing requirements and can apply to an indoor or outdoor venue booking.

It is separate from any delivery-area charge that may apply based on the event postcode.

Please provide accurate venue access, party and exit times when booking so we can plan the delivery, setup and collection correctly.

What Happens When We Arrive?

Supervision During Your Party

A responsible person aged 18 or over must be available for the handover and appropriate continuous supervision must be provided while the inflatable is available for use.

The inflatable should not be left available for use without appropriate supervision.

The supervisor must follow the operating and safety information provided during handover and the instructions applicable to the individual inflatable.

Users must also comply with the individual inflatable's manufacturer-stated suitability, permitted user heights and maximum user numbers.

Collection

We will return in accordance with the collection arrangements for your booking and safely dismantle the equipment.

Please make sure the inflatable is clear of users, food, decorations and personal belongings when we arrive.

A responsible person aged 18 or over should remain available until our equipment has been collected.

Before confirming an indoor booking, please have the following information available:

• Venue name and full address.
• Available usable floor width and depth.
• Lowest usable ceiling height.
• Venue access time.
• Party or event start and finish times.
• Required venue exit time.
• Details of any steps, stairs, narrow access or unusual restrictions.
• Any fixed lights, beams, stages, furniture or other features affecting the setup area.
• Any venue-specific requirements we should know about.
